SoftOrbits’ AI image editing utilities help small-scale companies reduce marketing costs by 14%

According to a SoftOrbits internal survey, small-scale companies that adopted its latest AI-powered utilities were able to reduce costs by up to 14%. With eight companies agreeing to share their internal calculations, this shows the positive impact non-generative AI tools can have on workflows without negating the value of specialists’ work.

SoftOrbits, founded in 2009 as an image data processing software developer and led by Eugene Ustinenkov, notes the gradual industry shift towards recognizing the value of non-generative AI functionalities. Although this shift is only in its early stages, it can potentially change the dynamic between business owners interested in increasing profits and experts concerned about keeping their jobs.

“Although there are obviously many companies that aim to replace artists with AI in the hope of massively reducing their expenses, the reality is that at the moment this doesn’t seem to be working out all that well for them. Not only have people quickly grown bored with AI-generated content, but it turns out that AI-generated images still need quality assurance and manual fixes before being used in advertisement, meaning that they don’t really cut costs as much as CEOs hoped they would,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits and AlarmFront.

Eugene adds that although AI technology will advance in the future and will most likely be able to create images of a much higher quality, public backlash, multiple criticisms, and ethical concerns associated with it already heavily stifle the viability of a “100% AI-generated” approach.

“There is no denying that AI usage in image and video creation is probably one of the most hotly debated topics today, with many professional artists criticizing the idea of replacing human creativity with AI that has already been trained on people’s art without anyone’s approval. However, there is almost no opposition to AI when it is used to save time on boring tasks and improve workflows. What that means is that companies that are highly enthusiastic about adopting AI can simply choose to implement it in a different way to benefit from it while respecting their employees,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits, Candidate of Technical Sciences.

SoftOrbits’ suite of AI-powered utilities was created with that purpose in mind. These tools help users automatically remove backgrounds, correct colors, and fix lighting without interfering with their artistic vision. This approach has helped SoftOrbits increase its downloads and active user base by almost 20% in the past few months, showing its viability in today’s highly competitive industry.

“We are convinced that other software developers in our niche will also inevitably notice how rewarding non-generative AI can be and will follow our example, creating a much more frictionless environment that ensures mutual understanding between business owners and professional creators,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits with over 10 years of software development experience.
