Castoro by Tiro Typeworks
Castoro is a libre serif font family, free for both personal and commercial use.
Initially developed for Tiro Typeworks’ internal use as a base from which to generate tailored Latin companions for their non-European script types, Castoro was released under the SIL Open Font License. It includes an extensive diacritic set for transliteration of South Asian languages, as well as support for most Latin diacritics.
Inspired by Dutch types from the 16–18th century, Castoro roman (regular) was designed by John Hudson, and the italic with his Tiro Typeworks colleague Paul Hanslow, assisted by Kaja Słojewska.
