Google Fonts — New fonts added 4 September 2018

The following new fonts were just added in the Google Fonts Directory:

Update — 6 September: looks like Noto Serif JP and Noto Serif KR were temporarily removed from the Google Fonts directory for now. There’s a Github issue opened that could explain this.
Update 2 — 6 September: the errors were fixed and the fonts are back in the directory.
  1. Noto Serif JP

    • The Japanese language version for Google’s popular Noto Serif font family
    • Includes 7 weights (Extra-Light, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi-Bold, Bold, Black)
    • License: SIL Open Font License → Licenses explained
    • Noto Serif JP has been subsetted to cover all of the kanji in JIS X 0208, JIS X 0213, and JIS X 0212, including all kanji in Adobe-Japan1-6
    • Designed by Google, Noto is a super-family of fonts that aims to support all languages of the world. This is the Serif Japanese family and is hinted. For more information go to google.com/get/noto or google.com/get/noto/help/cjk/

  2. Noto Serif KR

    • The Korean language version for Google’s popular Noto Serif font family
    • Includes 7 weights (Extra-Light, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi-Bold, Bold, Black)
    • License: SIL Open Font License → Licenses explained
    • Noto Serif KR has been subsetted to have full support for modern Hangul syllables (11,172), most of symbols in KS X 1001, Old Hangul with Unicode Hangul Conjoining Jamos and OpenType features. It does not include any Hanjas (Chinese characters) and Greek/Cyrillic letters.
