Ilisarniq by Coppers and Brasses
The Ilisarniq font family was designed by independent Canadian type foundry Coppers and Brasses for the Kativik School Board — the only school board of Nunavik.
It includes 10 styles (5 weights plus matching italics) and has OpenType features:
- Case-Sensitive Forms: shift various punctuation marks up to a position that works better with all-caps text or sets of lining figures; it also shifts old style figures to lining figures.
- Stylistic Alternates: by default Nunavik forms are used. To access Nunavut forms, activate the “Stylistic Alternates” or “Stylistic Set 01”.
- Standard Ligatures
- Tabular Figures
Please note that Inuktitut syllabics spacing is prioritized, so the word spacing will look larger than intended if the fonts are used in an environment where kerning is not supported.
